Operation: Lace Up
Imagine missing school because you don’t have a pair of shoes.
For many children experiencing homelessness and poverty in America, they don’t need to imagine. They are forced to skip school, unable to participate in sports and playground activities, and face health risks because of inadequate shoes or no shoes at all.
In response, FOCUS launched Operation: Lace Up, a national shoe distribution program that began in the summer of 2013. Hundreds of thousands of children affected by homelessness and poverty have received new high-quality shoes through the program. Our goal is to ensure that all school-age children have comfortable, properly-fitting shoes and are able to attend school.
During the 2014-2015 school year, children in 250 school districts in 30 cities across the US will receive new shoes as part of the program.
Help us make sure that every child has a pair of new shoes by making a donation here. Your support makes a difference.
